Received this safety recall notice today from Honda. Apparently there are certain EB2200i and EU2200i portable generators that can allow water into an electrical connection on the inverter, resulting in a short circuit failure or fire. This predominantly occurs in applications or regions where salt water is present.
I know there are many of you who use Honda generators on or around your boats to power various accessories therefore; you should take action as necessary. Check your serial number against the listing of affected units. If your generator is listed,
you can make an appointment with a local Honda dealer to have the defect repaired, free of charge.
