Was told by Honda dealer that running prolong hours on eco mode will shorten lives of the eco circuit. Is this BS or what?

Did he also tell you that using the engine will shorten the life of the piston rings.. What he says is undoubtedly true, (if you use something it will wear out) but I would want to know exactly what he is trying to tell you. Has he seen a lot of failures in the components like the throttle modulator or in the electronic control components, or if he is just telling you about something he doesn't like to fix?? I would explore what he is trying to say.

I hope its not a case of "I told you so" when come time for warranty replacement. Wonder if any EU20i owners has had their eco electronics repair/replaced?
Btw, doubt I can get much info from the dealer. The Honda EU20i practically sells itself. So he don't need to work hard on it.

Ken, I did a quick search and found nothing of concern. Most of the problems had to do with bad low speed performance due to ethanol in gasoline being allowed to sit in the carburetor for long periods.

I run ours on Eco all the time. I only have a 30 amp charger, and Eco will run it. So far so good.
