Honda EU200i, exhaust muffler

I've had my Honda for almost 6 years and it seems to be getting louder while running. I'm thinking that the muffler baffles are burned up and the muffler needs to be replaced.

Has anyone else experienced this?

For lack of a better response -
I have had mine only a short time so have no direct experience to relate, however, before buying it, I was convinced to do so by my contractor friends who have used them constantly for years without any problems or excess noise which makes me tend to believe your experience may be unique.

I guess that while mine is new, I should start routinely taking it apart and perhaps trying an application of high temp paint or something similar in an attempt to preserve it. So, they want 135 hunh? Was the entire unit a grand like mine, or were they less 6 years ago?

I think I paid about $800 for it from mayberrys.com. CRS, and the receipt is at home. Think I'll wait until the Annapolis boat show and see how they sound there.
