Check the archives - there's been tons of discussion on this topic. Short answer - it works with some systems, needs a hard start capacitor with others, and noise is relative.

Very Good

The honda seems to be a great portable Gen widely used by many boaters and RVers too, noise seems to be not bad but no Gen is quiet and the hard start is now available.
I don't have one but of my boating friends seem to use them for charging and some even AC.

Check the archive as has been suggested. I recall 16000 btu is the limit it will start but some owners need a hard start capacitor (google it). The stern seems to be the most popular place to run it since the boat will point into the wind and blow the fumes behind and away

Our h320 came with a 12,500 btu unit and runs fine with the Honda eu2000. We set it on a pad (avoids black markings ) on the port side swim platform locker. We tie it up with a safety line to avoid loosing it overboard and use a short pigtail adapter to connect to the boats shorepower plug. In the mornings we switch the A/C off and run a coffeemaker and microwave oven. While running A/C we also run the inboard battery charger. As far as noise it is just a hum down inside the cabin and it is not bad even sitting on the cockpit. As a point of courtesy we try to anchor downwind from others but most people down here use them as the summer heat and humidity can be brutal.

Yes we have and it works very well! We place it on top of the cabin and tie it off to the handrails on both sides. Runs the AC with no problems.

Thanks guys for info! I'll search the archive. I must be getting lazy.
And Benny, I believe my 326 is very similar in everyway to your 320. Was also thinking of putting the EU2000i on transom locker but was concern about noise. Admiral sleep in rear berth and she might just dump :cussing:the Honda over board if it disturb her sleep.
