In some motors that can be done but the cost is high. I am not sure about the engine you are speaking of.crazy Dave

9.9 electric start

I contacted a dealer regarding this issue on my 9.9 and he looked up the parts necessary. He concluded it was going to be very expensive and suggested I just trade in my manual start motor on a new electric start model. He said you have to change the flywheel and enough other things that it is not a "simple" change.
