Honda 9.9 forward controls help

Hello everyone! Im having some issues figuring out how I can run forward controls for my 2005 9.9 honda outboard with electric start. Right now it has a tiller and it seems as though the cables push to open the throttle. Has anyone put forward controls on a small honda outboard and if so what did you need and how hard was it? I'm trying to put it on our O'day 26 because with the bimini using the tiller for throttle control is difficult. Thank you in advance!
