Hi All:

I have a quick question to help me order some a replacement gaskets. I have a very small water leak coming from around one or both of these 2001 Honda 9.9 engine components, but don't know what they are called. I couldn't find them in the shop manual or on online parts suppliers. I KNOW there are folks on this forum that know exactly what they are. Thanks in advance! BrianW

The upper one is the thermostat cover, not sure about the lower arrow. The thermostat cover has an O-ring seal. The lower part may not be part of the cooling system. Check www.boats.net for parts.

The bottom arrow looks like the electronic ignition. You sure it is leaking at both spots?

Thanks caverun and Rick! The thermostat cover was the only water leak area. The leak went undetetected for a while when I was sailing in salt water. (I'm now in fresh water) This caused some corrosion on the bolt heads of the thermostat cover and the electronic ignition cover. I needed to know that each were called to get the o-ring replacement and the bolt replacements. Before y'all's help, I didn't even know what to look for! Thanks! BrianW

With your help, I was able to identify the lower component as the regulator/rectifier. Thanks again! BrianW
