I want to make peek a boo blinds out of wood for my Catalina 27. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, did you make a template? Can you share any ideas about making the template/ blinds etc. Thanks. JF

I bought 4 sets of 36" mini blinds (all plastic) from Lowes. $6 a pop, just removed the 4 extra feet on unneeded louvers.

Made mine for the head ports so we can have them open a little while in a marina and still have privacy. Inside is car shade material and covered with fabric. A little tab at the top and a suction cup for adhering the port. Here are pics.

The portlights in my cabin are round so I bought sun-catchers which not only block the sunlight but also prying eyes when I go to a dock. Just something to think about.

This is one above my bunk:

I like the way the sun-catchers (I have two at present) mute the afternoon sun when I'm trying to take a nap, er, call it "read a book" via osmosis with my eyes closed!
