Seldom do most of us have a gear loss/theft that goes beyond the usual insurance deductible, but it sure sounds like you do now!
Make a list with replacement value and get your claim in. Sounds like you will be way over the usual $500. or $1000. deductible.

there are many types of disabilities, my friend. some are more obvious and debilitating than others. many are hidden, physiologically speaking--i am not including the psychological debilitators, as that is not appropriate in this case. research the approved list of disabilities. i think you will find many are not obvious to the naked eye, yet are quite the mayhem.
Amen!. Kidney disease for one, which I am facing myself. Google Fabry disease and see what a wonderful time of it all those aflicted in my family including myself go through. Can't tell by looking at me I could hide it from you as I have from employers since I was 16yrs old. Now 47 with an average of 3rys left to live according to stats I have filed myself.
thankyou.. if youhave paidinto the fica system, there is no dole involved--you earned that money. that part i had ok. was the loss of function of things i can definitely6 use in daily life i am dealing with also, as are you. some of this i was unconsciously able to plan for as i developed-- from age 7. i now understand why it was/is that folks who suffer reynaud's disease were not allowed to attend nursing school. kind of. i had way too much fun in my career to even consider having done something else ever for a carer path.
If you look back in history, every decent society made provisions for those unable to function, as long as that society could afford to do so. I read about some skeleton found in the Swiss alps of a primitive man of thousands of years ago. They showed that this person had had a broken hip and other broken bones from an earlier age and that his injuries were so debilitating that there is no way he could have functioned and survived without the help of the rest of his clan. Yet he did for quite a few years.
