Holding & Water Tanks

Has anyone had any experience with Ronco Plastic tanks. I need to replace the holding tank on our boat. Beside the smell, it does have a crack in it. The orginal tank is manufactured by Kracor, they want $500.00 for the replacement 22 gallon, Ronco is about half of that. I did notice that Ronco Tanks can be used for water or holding so that got me to wondering about their structural integrity at a pump out.

Ronco tanks far superior to Kracor (for a LOT less $$!)

Kracor doesn't like to make one-off replacements, so they charge through the nose for 'em and flatly refuse even to put a fitting in a different place than original. And, their tanks are only so-so quality. Ronco tanks are at least 50% thicker than most other tanks including Kracor--about 3/8" vs barely .25". Corners are even thicker...AND (unlike Kracor) they install fittings in the sizes and locations specified by the customer when they make the tank. They're great to work with!

Fwiw, I recommend you take advantage of this opportunity to go with a larger diameter vent line...1"...and also MAYBE relocate the inlet and vent fittings to prevent waste from spilling into 'em when the boat is heeled. I'll be glad to advise on that.

Btw...if you order it through the online store here, you'll get an even better price than going direct to Ronco.

Oh...re same tank for water or holding. The tanks are the same high quality for both... It's the curing process that matters when spec'ing waste or water... How the tank is cured determines whether the water will have a "plastic" taste or not.

Here's my Ronco 22 gal. tank going into the v-berth, in 2000 I think. Like Peggy says, solid and the hose connections are right where I asked Ronco to put them.
