Where is your holding tank vent line through-hull located? On our boat, there is a very long vent line that winds its way in back of the engine and just lies there. From reading about holding tanks (courtesy of the Head Mistress) this line should be as short and as vertical as possible. So, where does yours go and what type of through-hull is installed? Someone mentioned a lifeline stanchion obtained from Catalina Direct that has a vent line connection at the bottom and a small vent hole just above the deck. Anyone tried that? Thanks for any advice. Vent to port

Although the printed material that I got with my 1982 C27 says that the holding tank vents into the anchor locker, the truth is that the vent line comes from the holding tank under the V berth, through the back of the hanging locker and vents on the port deck, through its own vent (not stanchion). There may be many variations, but this seems a short and relatively straight path.

That's where mine ends up. Holding tank is under the v-birth.

The vent for the holding tank is located in the lifeline stanchion Port Side there is a little hole near the top of the stanchion second from stern.
