I have tried several products from online sources for treating black water tank . Does anyone have something they recommend . I am now using a little bleach in fresh water after lots of reading . Mike

You'll have an easier time finding Odorlos if you spell it correctly :) And yes, I do recommend it. RV supply stores have it for a lot less than any marine retailer.

Thanks for plugging my book, Ken! I can't disagree with a thing you said about it! <LOL> And if you buy it from the sbo online store, you're helping to support this site. Plus, you'll have me to answer any questions it doesn't.

And she's really great in person. If you have a chance, go to meet her. She is a GEM! I had the tremendous pleasure of having spent a day with her on my boat a year ago last April (2016) --- gee, Peggie, has it been that long ago? Well, I snuck in a six week trip from SF to Vancouver Island during the summer of 2016, still here and enjoying it immensely. Meeting more sbo skippers, too. Lovely.

Buy the book! :)

Peggies advice and knowledge is invaluable!! But I have to say I haven't used anything in the holding tank this season and have not noticed any difference.....

When my second book was released last year, the first boat show my publisher booked me into was the Strictly Sail show in Richmond (Oakland) on SF Bay. Stu and I had been online friends for at least a decade, maybe longer, but had never actually met. I emailed him that I was coming and hoped we could finally meet at the show. He replied within an hour with an offer I couldn't refuse: an invitation to stay over a day after the show to go sailing with him. It was the nicest day I've spent in years! The weather was perfect and Stu was a wonderful host.
And btw, his Raritan PHII worked perfectly and there was no trace of odor on the boat or out the tank vent.

His blog telling the story of his journey from SF Bay up the coast to BC with his son is a wonderful read: Travels with Aquavite: San Francsico Bay to British Columbia 2016
