The inlet elbow for my holding tank on my 29.5 is corroded away. Does anyone have information on a repair technique or is it just easier to replace the tank. If so, where are they available?

Replace the tank

"Corroded" means it's a metal tank...and urine is so corrosive that if it's eaten through the fitting the tank itself is about to turn into a collander. Your best source for a rotomolded tank is Ronco Plastics http://www.ronco-plastics.com (no relation to the VegoMatic Ronco, btw). They make top quality tanks for a very reasonable price and have more than 400 shapes and sizes to choose from, over 100 of which are non-rectangular...and they install fittings in the sizes and locations specified by the customer when they make the tank. If they don't have one that'll fit, the best source I've found for custom welded plastic tanks is Triple M Plastics. They use polyproplylene instead of polyethylene, but their prices are WAY less than any other custom tank mfr and they put a lifetime warranty on 'em. http://www.triplemplastics.net/ You MIGHT want to check out the link below before starting this project.

I agree with Peggy on plastic, but if your tank is odd shaped and Ronco doesn't carry one, a custom plastic will cost more than AL. I replaced mine with AL from Rayco in Bradenton, 941 751 3177, at a reasonable price.

I would not even consider a metal tank.

Emery: I would not consider any metal tank for waste. If Ronco does not have a satisfactory tank, consider a custom poly tank. May cost a couple of buck more, but it will be the last one. Rick Dinon just replaced his, so he may be able to pipe in and give you some advice.

I replaced Mine

Our 29.5 was on the hard for 2+ years and no body told us it was leaking when they put her on the trailer.(my wife saw the problem before we bought the boat I did not believe the Blue dye near the tank was a problem, crap) so I was a little upset when we started to use it being our first big boat with a head. The dealer We bought the boat from here in Colorado paid for the replacment tank. Steve: The ANCHORAGE Work 303-823-6601 Web:WWW.THEANCHORAGE.com LYONS, CO 80540 what a job I did replace the hoses as well and the inlet hose is special stink resistant. If you call Steve he might be able to find model # it was around $100.00 less hoses Plastic Yes Metal NO.

Tank Options

I replaced my tank on my 30T and went the custom route to get a bigger tank. I ended up with a 24 gal tank to replace my 15 gallon. I used Sea-Fab Plastic Tanks.
