My wife and I Have owned a 1987 Oday 322 for 3 years. The boat is perfect for us except for the holding tank odor. It's been hot this year and the odor has been worse than ever. The holding tank is located under a berth starboard side aft. A vent tube runs from the upper side of the tank down under the prop shaft and back up to the port side. I found fluid in the tube and cleared it. The odor really has not improved much. We welcome any suggestions.

Same here

it is caused, as you found out is the fluded in that pipe. what i found is, keep it pumped out often, and make sure that pipe is free to "let off steam" I also use a deoderizer for tanks from local hardware store. This winter i plan to make a air passage/pipe from the tank to the starboard side with new through hull. this should alow gravity to keep the pipe free after pump out.
