Holding Tank Monitoring

I'm having trouble coming up with a non-evasive tank monitoring system. It appears from my research that the transmitter must be internally mounted. A friend says he has heard of a strip monitor / xmtr system that simply attaches to the exterior of the tank.Help and Thanks

Snake River makes tank monitors with strips glued to the tanks. I have installed their system on my B331 - seems to work well.

The online store here carries it...read all about it on the Snake River website at http://www.snake-river.orgThe external sender works on any material except metal. Metal tanks require an internal sender, but it never actually comes in contact with the contents either.
