ranger 33 water and waste
We have 1978 Ranger 33 with factory installed fresh water and waste tanks. The water tank is under the v'birth, center of boat, with the fill at the top of the tank, center line, with a 4 inch diameter round hole in the plywood "floor" of the v-birth, the tank appears to be polyethylene, screwcap of about 2.5 inch diameter. The tank is as far aft as can be accomodated in the space under the v-birth. We have to lift the v-birth matress to one side and manuever the dockside filling hose into the tank, fill it, and then replace the screw-in cap. The waste holding tank is black plastic or rubber, collapsible, located forward of the water tank, separated by a partition which is transverse. The holding tank fills by hand pumping from the head, and is drained through a pumpout fitting on the foredeck above, on the port side. Both tanks are original equipment and function quite well. West Marine has a full spectrum of both types of tank in their catalog. WE are cold water only in our water system, the electric water pump is under the starboard v-bunk, aft in the space, with an access panel in the v-bunk "floor". Clear polyethylene lines to the galley sink and to the sink in the head. Good luck in your nautical plumbing venture, shouldn't be too difficult.
