I just rebuilt my Raritan PH 2, and cleaned the hose from the head to the holding tank, my question is: is there a product that I can use to chemically desolve the buildup of sludge on the tank bottom? My tank is plastic, and original equiptment in a 1984, H34.
I am not sure it has a buildup, just think it may after cleaning the head and the hose!
We seldom use the tank for solids, and pump after a sail on each weekend. The entire system works properly, and we have no odor problems, I am just curious.

If it ain't broke...

The only cleaning your tank needs is a thorough clean water rinse 2-3x a year, especially in prepartion for any winter layup. If you absolutely insist on making work for yourself, put a gallon of liquiid detergent (Tide, Wisk) in it...fill it with water...go sailing and tack a lot...and THEN thoroughly flush it out with plenty of clean water.

Btw...it's not necessary to fill a tank to rinse it out. I've posted the instructiona enough times that you shouldn't have too much trouble finding 'em.

Thanks for the quick reply, and good advise, I feel better now, and plan to just water rinse a few times a year!
