Was wondering if anybody has a clean out port on a Ronco Holding Tank? I live near Ronco and was able to pick up a new tank for my boat. When the fittings were being cut and spin welded in place the guy asked if I'd like a 5" diameter clean out fitting installed. Now that I have the tank ready for installation I wonder about the clean out leaking vapor over time because of an old gasket.
Any info on this?

I do have a Ronco holding tank. I do not have a cleanout port. Neither Peggy nor Ronco ever mentioned the option. If I did have one I would not worry about vapors or odors. I am sure that you can keep a good tight seal.

A leaking gasket--o-ring under the cap, actually--is easy to prevent: just replace it every 5-6 years, when you rebuild the toilet (assuming that your toilet is one that'll actually last that long). Any leaking meanwhile will be a clear indication that the tank vent is blocked, and has pressurized the tank.,

Thanks for the info!!!
I have a Ranger 37 and it has never had a holding tank and I'm installing one. It's the right thing to do.
Thanks for the info about the 1" vent line.

We installed a ronco 38 gal holding tank on our H37c with a 3" clean out port. We do not detect any vapor smell. The port has a robust o-ring for a seal. This access allows us to clean the tank after its pumped out which in turn keeps the build-up to a minimum.

Ollie, where did you come from? I found one other post from you, back in January. Have you always been lurking or are you a new owner? You are in Bradenton so you must know Blaise. And where did you put a 38 gallon tank?

Not meaning to highjack the thread, but you asked...We have owned Ollie Ree two and a half years. Hull #336 previous name Spritzer from Key Largo. The name Ollie Ree comes from my maternal grandmother, a sweet ole lady.
I don't know Blaise personally but know several folks that do. They have shared many positive things about him.
We installed a Ronco B101 tank in the large hold of the V-berth. The shape and dimensions fit like a glove.
In speaking of lurking, that is a beautiful inlay in your salon table.
