Moebetta

Aloha, I have a 1974 Catalina with a toilet and holding tank. I am thinking about removing it and replacing it with a portable toilet that's easier to dump. Does anyone have any suggestions?

keep it

Makes sense to keep it. Do your pumping out when you are 3 miles off shore. Seems it would be more hassel to carry a portapotty ahore and dump it than pumping out.

Don't chan change

I have had both. Would never go back to a porta potty! What is the reason for wanting change? There are more pumping stations available now then ever or just go offshore more then 3 miles and you can leagaly pump out with a macerator.

head

hello moebetta, if you do not have a permanently installed head with at least a 10 gal. holding capacity, you can't overnight in monterey calif. marina more than 14 days out of 30 or 3 nights out of any 7 in the harbor. so you may be limiting some of your own local activities. john

I wouldn't..

Hey Brah, what's easier than pulling up to a pumping station and letting the pump do da work? Doesn't the local marina have stations for the public to use? I can't tell you how many stories I've had with a porta-pottie (some funny, some not) but I wouldn't have bought my Cat. 27 if it didn't have an on board head and holding tank. I would keep it and forgo the porta..
