Hitch, bend, or knot to a ring

I'm re-rigging my single line reefing system this weekend. The specification drawing shows the tack reef lines passing through the tack cringles, being fixed with a stop knot. I don't trust that the knot won't pass through the cringle under load, so I am thinking of passing the line through the cringle and tying it to a stainless steel ring.

But how? Current thinking is an anchor bend plus half hitch.

Any ideas?

I run a loop through the cringle then put a stop knot from the end across the leech through the loop and tighten. This is a locked knot.
I showed this to a fellow sailor and he suggested to run the line through then cringle and secure on the boom.
Not sure if this is better than the locked knot.

Thanks John, but I was talking about the tack, not the clew.
