Does anyone know why Hunter stopped producing the free standing mast ?

Cost and Acceptance

I would guess that the mast was too costly to produce and was not readily accepted by the general public. Never heard of any real problems with it. Freedom Yachts still uses a freestanding (no rigging) mast with great succcess. They most likley don't go to windward as well as a stayed mast .

I had taken too many stupid pills when I made the previous post. Apologies to myself . . . . Tomorrow I will only take one pill.

The real reason is this web site. How would Phil get enough Items to fill this sight with out mast and rigging tuneing questions. V32 and V36 owners rule.

Mast

A dealer told me back when they stopped making the 32 & 36 that the cost to make the mast was to much.
