There is a need for towing insurance in them there waters.
Also a need to take U-Tube video captions with many grains of salt. Their authors commonly use the word "capsize" for any situation where a boat runs aground. Idiots!
Towing insurance coverage is indeed a good idea. Also have good insurance on the boat, and do read over the smaller print in the policy.
Have your own insurance in place before the boat is loaded onto the truck. Full coverage. Do not go Cheap.

Good for you. Get the boat into warm water, then take it out into the ocean.

Here are a few boat owners taking their boat out for the day down South.
Haulover Inlet

Or Boca Inlet...
So in the second video.... the skipper is seen making his halyard nice and tidy while his boat is aground. Seems like his priorities are a little off.

Ok... Its been decided to travel over land instead. Less risks, also found a good price for the move.
Thx to all
Sounds as if from the original post that the boat is not actually ready for distant travel on its own bottom, noting engine replacement/repair remark. But, the multi $$$ cost of transport might go far in upgrading the boat’s seaworthiness, etc. People in FL plan (or hope) for years to make a summer run to ME and back. I know some who have done it. It’s always been a mystery to me folks who buy a boat in a top cruising venue then rush to move it somewhere else bypassing all of the neat stuff that could be experienced:doh: in between. The very thing that a cruising yacht, in this case a coastal cruiser, is supposed to offer at it best. You got me. The east coast of FL has little exciting to see or do IMHO compared to exploring New England and Penobscot Bay, etc.

I suspect the main reason is time. If you are planning for a retirement boat and not yet ready for retirement, you just don't have the 2-3 months to transport a boat from ME to FL.

FL boats are in the water all year and it often shows. A northern boat of the same vintage might be in better shape because it is hauled every winter and get washed and waxed at least once a year.

Then what’s the hurry? The high season for sailing in FL ended May 1st. The high season in New England is just beginning. Stick around ME until August then send it down to FL. Why miss out on the chance to actually explore the local gems?

Don't know about his priorities, but his ability to read a tide table seems way off. Florida inlets can be nasty with frequent shoaling, entering at low tide or with wind against current is a sure fire way to have a bad day.

Doesn't work if your job is in Florida.

I suppose not, but Tampa is not on the FL east coast; so who knows. White pelican is the City mascot for St. Petersburg, also not Tampa.
