But in 2003, when she tried sailing for the first time as a passenger, she said she was “amazed.”
“It was all suddenly possible, and the next thing I knew I was out in the middle of the lake and I had the sensation of movement and . . . it was as if I was free,”

She likened the experience of being on the water and controlling the movement of the boat to flying and being given a set of wings.
We can all relate to those sentiments. Especially poignant given the exceptional challenges she faced. What a courageous lady.

My she accomplished so much in such a short time. Tough can do attitude. Makes me a bit humble when thinking about her accomplshments.

Very inspiring indeed. My husband had RSD and was in constant pain 24/7. I can only imagine what it took for her and how amazing and remarkable she must have been to do what she accomplished.
