This proves Darwin's theory of Evolution.

Evolution takes millions of years to EVOLVE.
That being said, not all creatures evolve at the same pace.

To prove my theory, I'll bet if you take these two & multiply them by 5, you would get 10 people.

Now, take these 10 people & arrange them in a circle.

Have them all open their mouths at the same time & guess what you might find?

MAYBE ONE FULL SET OF TEETH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I kept waiting for the bow eye to snap out of the fiberglass! Its amazing how many people think it will hold the total boat weight! Chief

I liked how the boat was still tied to the tree when they were trying to load it back onto the trailer .

Actually I thought this video was going to be used in court as evidence of child endangerment.

RG,

Obviously you're a believer in the Darwin Awards!

And you are correct, sometimes it becomes hilarious.

They have great potential as boat mechanics at the marina I use, given the ratio of work produced per billable hour...

Oh, that is classic!! The only thing missing was banjo music.

They got it done though, you can't take that away from them! :)
Yes you are right...

... and to be fair.... this is how I worked on the bottom of my own boat.... maybe if I didn't have a keel to deal with I woulda/shoulda/coulda done the same thing as these guys....

I own a banjo (and know how to play it too);)

AS a former boat dealer, I had to see that video and from a safety aspect, it was not funny at all. First with a child in this process should never have occurred because injury to a child is not funny and the parent should be reprimanded. Secondly, I have been standing by a person when a strap broke and the buckle end hit his head with such force and part of his brain sticking out, that still haunts me to this day and yes he does not know himself anymore all because a dealer in conjunction with the truck driver were in a hurry to off load a pontoon boat without regard to safety of others. I acted quickly to save his life.

That video and others like it are not funny when anything can happen when people are injured. I call it wreckless and stupid. Anytime unloading or loading a boat, safety is the key so no one is injured. You cannot replace human life but you can replace a boat.
I have nothing more to say on this.

Dave,

I think you've summed it up man. Nothing more new to add. I didn't see the humor in this video either, having seen first hand anything under tension breaking & injuring.

There had to have been some beers or a joint somewhere (not in the video) that gave them their idiot idea.

Ever hear the saying, "Some people's ceilings are other people's floors". I wonder what floor their elevator stopped at, "Basement anyone"?

Thank you Capt. Ron for agreeing. I have seen too much over the years not to mention what I personally experienced. This included being caught underground for three days in a coal mine with 2 hrs. of air left before being rescued during investigating for lack of support, jumping out of a plane below 2000 feet due to shotty mechanic work, mast failed when I went up in a bosuns chair as a result of the owner who drilled alot of holes under the spreaders, watching two basss boats hit head on in daylight with two killed and the list goes on. When ever I did anything, safety was the first thing in my mind and when I saw something unsafe, I said something like I was starting to tell my friend that offloading the pontoon boat the way his boss said too and then he went down. I have alot more to say but when you have experienced what I saw or was involved over the years, there is a time to be funny and then there are times when it is not funny and that video was a disgrace to the safety of children alone.

Now wait a minute CaptnRon, 3 days ago you thought it was funny but now you have the holier than thou opinion that "I didn't see the humor in this video either"?

I am certainly not a proponent of child endangerment nor death and dismemberment. Since no one was injured in this video (by the grace of God), I thought the level of stupidity was amusing (as you did at first), akin to America's Funniest Home Videos type stuff.

Perhaps I should have entitled it "Stupid trailer video". My intent was not to offend anyone, but only to provide a chuckle to those who did see the humor in it. And, perhaps others might learn how NOT to unload a trailer.

No offense to you captnron or Dave. I respect your opinions and am just defending myself here. I hope there are no hard feelings.

K,

No hard feelings pal,

I was trying to be sarcastic 3 days ago. The thread morphed into discussion about the real dangers as the video showed. Originally, I was just pointing to the stupidity of it.

Gentlemen;

We have said enough and let all of us reflect on what has been said and move on letting this thread die. I would appreciate it. May God Bless you all.
