Highlights from this weekend's MS Regatta

We placed 2nd in our class behind a very fast C&C 35. Our Class had 4 Ericsons in it. Our 35-3, another 35-3, a 38 and a classic 41.

Overall a great day for sailing. Good steady winds and we finished just ahead of the rain. A little fog at the start but nothing too bad.

Sorry I missed this one but I do hope to make it Wednesday. I should know tomorrow or Tuesday if I can make Wednesday racing..

Which C&C was it? Was it Orinoco?

Decoy

The C&C 35 was Decoy. It has a modfied keel from an Ericson. Gail and Randy were in a different class that they won.

I would have been even more bummed that I missed the race it if we'd beaten them!!

Agreed

I had them in the CYC regatta but the wind lightened up and they caught me.

A funny story:

We took the start at the Committee boat end on stbd tack. An ericson 38 owned by a guy I met the night before was at the pin end and started on port tack passed right in front of us and says "what happened, I heard you were pretty good". I tacked, passed him, pulled away and never saw him again

Dreams II was our closest competitor. It is also an ericson 35-5 who we owe 3 seconds a mile to. We had a bad tack going out Hussey sound but managed to stay far enough ahead of him to beat him.
