HOW Editorial

88% of responding Hunter owners sleep soundly on their boats, according to last week's Quick Quiz. Is preparedness a part of your sound sleep? Do you use anchor alarms, lights, radar, or maybe the Slap Silencer to saw your logs... or are you too sleepy to care? Share your tired thoughts here.

Cheap fix for added comfort

I had always slept well on our H34 but sometimes the wife awakes with the odd ache or pain. Was in the local wallyworld (walmart) recently and spotted those cheap foam mattress pads. They are about a couple of inches thick with one side flat and the other bumpy. Picked one up for about $6. The difference was amazing. That extra padding under the sheet was all the wife needed. The very first morning shocked both myself and the first mate. The wife was first up, had zipped off to the store, and had coffee brewing. She was definitely more refreshed after her best night's sleep on the boat. If you feel a bit lumpy in the morning, do yourself a favor and pick one up. Scott. 83-H34 Island Hops.

Most sound sleep

Why, I don't know, but I always sleep the best on the boat. Maybe it's just relaxation of mind (brain enema) when I'm on the boat. Too bad I just had the boat hauled for hibernation this week up here in Rhode Island.

Ear Plugs Really Help

Ear plugs really help in certain conditions - always keep some on board. I think my wife uses them when we anchor. <grin>

Sleep? No problem, mon!

Add my name to the list of sound sleepers! Can't think of a better way to have a good night's sleep! Don't need any aids to help sleep - although a good "aide" is always helpful ;-) What a water bed!

Ask my wife

I sleep like a baby. Snore like a sawmill. Good thing we have two cabins!

Noting Like it!

I've always slept well onboard. I think it has to do with the sounds of the water and wind, along the gentle rocking of the boat (if you're in a nice anchorage and the weather favors it). Besides, remember that line from "Joe And The Volcano", " You always have goofy dreams when you sleep on a boat." Many goofy dreams to all!

Best sleep ever.

The forepeak and aft stateroom are both very comfortable. I sleep like a baby when Im on board. However, I have not slept in the cabin bunks. They seem like they would be quite confining.
