Now that we officially have the first storm brewing in the Atlantic I wanted to see what the best way to prepare for a storm is while docked at the marina? Thank you Mike

Mike, You could always remove the sails and stow them down below. You could just leave your Main Sail secured to the boom with the cover on it and stow in the cabin boom and all. Secure anything that might blow away. Joe

Here are a couple of links

Mike - there are a couple of good sites wich provide some information. The best way I think is ..... move the boat. If you have a trailer this is easy - if not then .... you will have to rely on your skills and those of the other owners in your marina. You can do the best job and prepare your boat but if another boat gets loose then it can hit your and ..... So here are the links www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/61798tip2.htm and www.boatus.com/hurricanes/brochure.asp Here's hoping you/we never need to use the advice. I have been through two relatively minor hurricanes in RI and was evacuated from our house - hearing trees snap is a sound you don't forget - and the wind was only 65 mph. I cannot imagine winds of 75 to 100 mph. James
