Stu, I had Brian Roberts Electric of Victoria rebuild my old starter, got it back yesterday, he cleaned it up beautifully, he also installed a new solenoid. $140 cdn for the whole job !! what a bargain, reinstalled in 15 min. Now using just the starter battery at 75% charge the engine started within 3 seconds. see picture, not bad for a 23 year old piece of machinery !!!

Sounds like a good deal, Glad it worked. of course, the picture looks like a Buck Rogers rocket ship with a docked fighter escort! Stu Where in Victoria? We've got a few C34s there that may need his help someday.
