Are you in yet? I was coming over the bridge from Havre De Grace to Perryville and saw that it looks like there are a bunch of boats in the water at your marina. Also I was told by someone at Log Pond that there is a large submerged rock near the bridges that many a ship has collided with and sank. Is this true? Manny

Hi Manny, not in yet but soon.

They are building a new bulkhead and our ramp is removed for the time being. There is a long bar or reef that extends south from Garrett Island towards the Amtrak bridge. If you stay three or four boat lengths away from the bridge you will have at least 9 feet. There are boulders around Garrett island so if you approach do so dead slow. The water shoals very quickly going from fifty feet to none twenty feet from shore in 100 feet. There are some nice beaches on the east side of the island

Stirring the pot again

I know, but I just can't resist. When I read Manny's post, with a wind chill of 26 there was just no way not to say something. Temp here for the next few days is highs in the low 80's, with temps in the mid 60's at night. Time to do some sailing.

Sounds nice

Manny, sounds like you had a nice trip, glad to hear it. You must have timed the tides perfectly to have made that kind of time in a 27'er. Funny but the river down around the Commodore Barry Bridge is such that with some NE winds you'll pick up some small waves and surf. We've done it a couple of times and it always seems to be in the same area. I don't envy the chilly temps, even if it does make the beer taste better once you get into port. Won't be long now and it'll be in the 70s and you can enjoy the bay. Take care Mike

It's not so bad

Temps are forecast to go into the upper 60's by the end of the week. Hopefully if the rain holds off, I might be able to go sailing for a bit... Manny
