Hey Maine Sail - What About That Garmin 176?

Did you ever get a chance to check out that tides page on your 176? I recently contacted Garmin and was given the download to update my unit but it didn't work.

I thought it was at home but I must have left it on the boat. I have to run up to the sail loft later and will try to grab it and check it out for you..

2001 Software:

Fired her up hit "menu" twice, scrolled to "tides", hit enter, scrolled sideways to the top box with "At" hit "Enter", selected Falmouth Foreside, hit enter and got tide info..

Perhaps you're not close enough to a local tide station for it to work? While doubtful it could be an explanation..

The tide stations should appear on the GPS chartplotter, if you have it set up to show them. That way you can be sure which exact tide-station you're looking at, and make adjustments for the tide level based on where you actually are.
