Good news Rick. How about some photos? Don't forget the C-22 National Association too. A strong organization keeps our boats in demand. Besides, lot's of GREAT information and access to races or cruises, what ever trips your trigger!

Great deal Rick

I thought I saw a roller furler on the deck :)

One suggestion. Store the mast on the boat and drape the tarps over the mast not on the deck and cabin house. I have found that leaving the tarp on the deck will serve to help hold water IN the boat. You wil always get some rain in the boat but it will mostly evaporate... and keeping the tarps over the mast makes a sharper pitch for the water to run off.

My suggestion is get the wife whatever she wants! Cheap plastic would cost you dearly in the long run!

I was lucky enough to meet and talk with a few sailors before I got my boat. They almost all said to get as big a boat as you can afford.
I'm glad I got a 26'! It will last a few years before I want to step up in size. That's if I ever do want to go up in size. Bigger has its limitations, specifically trailer ability.
Big boat = slip rental. Not to mention limited sailing area in a given season.

Rick, Make sure you tape the open end of the mast closed while it is stored. I didn't and ended up with a sparrows nest way up inside. That was no fun trying to evict them.

while you are working on the mas, you might want to re wire it and while you are at it, I would recommend switching to LEDS for the steaming light and anchor light. Also, you might want add spreader down looking deck lights. I got some from superbrightleds.com

These: http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...watt-vehicle-mini-strobe-lighthead/1348/3099/

They can be wired for both solid on and with the flip of a switch to strobe.

and they could also be wired as strobes in case you want to be sure you are seen. (mississippi barge traffic, in my case) I also got an anchor lite from bebe-electronics and it is the brightest one in any anchorage.

this one: http://www.bebi-electronics.com/masina.html

It was a pain fishing all the wires, but it was worth it.
