I saw your photo of your holding tank installation in Roger Long's thread and I didn't want to hijack that one. Did you open up the hole in order to accommodate a larger tank? I assume your tank is under the v berth. I'm looking at doing the same thing but wonder about structural integrity of the v berth. I don't believe it would affect the hull but I'm not totally sure. My v berth has half round fiberglass stringers on the underside that would need to be cut in order to make room for a larger tank to fit in that space. The stringers could be re-glassed once the tank was mounted but that gets tough with the limited space and the fact that I'd be doing glasswork on an inverted surface.
Any thoughts?

A friend of mine has a H'37C and he purchased a tank from Ronco that fit through the opening so he did NOT need to reglass the area. His capacity was about 22 gal.

If you can find a tank that suits your needs, you can mock up one from cardboard and tape to dry fit it before you purchase.

Steve, I did that already and unfortunately, it was too big for the opening. The tank is only 18 gallons but the boat came stock with a 13 gallon tank. If I am going to go to the trouble of cutting the opening to make access, I'll more than likely find an even larger tank than the 18.

Nothing structural there Danny. In fact it is stronger than before due to the shelf that the tank sits on. I could have placed a larger tank of different dimensions if not for the transducers in that center locker. And I would not have had to enlarge the opening.
