Last year I attempted to haul out the h23 for the first time...this went pretty well until I realized she was sitting about 12 inches shy of the "V" bumper where the winch is attached. To make a long story shorter, I tried to refloat several times and kept missing the mark (probably due to the incline of the ramp). With day light fading I decided to winch the boat the remaining 10-12 inches and to my dismay broke a weld connecting the stem/neck of the trailer to the mounting plate, and bent the entire stem/neck aft towards the stern. The mounting plate is bolted to the frame with 2 heavy u-bolts and is buckled due to the forces exerted. As anyone could imagine this posed several immediate problems at the time...but presently I need to have this part replaced entirely (which is probably my only option), or have this mangled mess of steel reshaped and welded. Now my question: is there a manufacturer that already has this part (the neck where the winch is attached)pre fabricated, or am I going to have to have one custom made ($$$)? As of right now I am fresh out of ideas and stranded at the same marina since the haul out...any help would be much appreciated!Brian h23 kickin' back
