Any hints on installation other than what's in the packaging? Close to tank is best? Can it be horizontal? Is it possible to have too close to tank? Thanks...

Installation can be as close to the tank as is feasable. The closer to the tank, the greater the lead time. Mounting to within 45 degrees of verticle is needed in the event any fuel should enter the device. It would then be able to self drain back to the tank. Have you tried it yet?

Other than to...

blow through it, ;D NO! As you know, the vent line on the 35.5 stays pretty much horizontal from the tank all the way over till it gets near the vent. At least mine does. Trying to not have to re-route vent line and wanted to keep as close to tank as possible. How/where is your's installed?
