Calling all sailors : During our trip to Annapolis in Oct, I purchased a "sailing" CD from Bob Bitchin at the Latitudes & Attitudes booth. On the CD were two cuts from an artist named Jim Morris from Punta Gorda Florida. Folks, go & have a listen to his stuff & tell me "how" this guy has been able to hide from us all...until now!!!! This is definitly what "Tropical Genius" sounds like !!!! Get a listen to the following tunes; at http://www.jim-morris.com/home.htm 1) Laid back & Key Waisted 2) The Sailboat race 3) Moonlight Sail 4) Three day drunk looking for a place to happen 5) Navagator Afternoon 6) No Beer Today 7) Visually Cool & Pleasently Numb 8) The Floating Opera 9) So Bad Last Night 10) Laid Back Attack And...(please don't be offended ladies...(11) Mike the Muff Diver. Let's all buy the CD's & support this guy !!!! Regards, Paul Ouellette, S/V Winpipe (B361) Windsor Ontario

What about Ray Fogg

Probably a bit more risque, but, great music. He generally plays out of Put-In-Bay in the summertime. He's coming to Michigan next weekend though...looking forward to it, as, right now, it's FREEZING!

Ya gotta do what you believe in !!!!

Hey Sean : Thanks for the words of encouragement. Let me say why I feel so strongly this way... Latitudes & Attitudes magazine will eventually be bigger than any other Mag in the sailing world, because it's all about real people...you & me & what we love to do...in reality, or just the fantasy. Bob Bitchin is the right guy, doing the right thing, at the right time for all of us & we need to support his effort. (read subscribe) As far as music is related, I'm fairly certain that Lats will be playing a roll in our future music aboard as well, & Jim Morris will be figuring very prominently into the lineup...if not in an "all out lead" for others to emulate & follow. He's simply too talented "not to" & I just can't understand how the folks in Florida have kept this guy a secret until now. BTW, the web does not do his tunes proper justice, play Jim's cd's on a good sterio & listen to the steel drums & the marimbas...wow !! At present, Lats seems only to be really supporting Eric Stone, (& he's good too) however, in the years to come I'll bet that Lats "backup" will include other artists as well. For those of us who have attended the Lats & Atts party at the St Pete's boat show, & seen Eric Stone, I'm wondering if Bob might ever stage an event such as a "tropic singer" star search, for us to hear some other talent too. Where is "the next" Buffett... I think he's in Punta Gorda Florida & only time will tell if i'm correct. For now, I'll just be sailing along with "Laid back & Key Waisted", "Island daze", & "Wherever the Wind Blows" til everyone else catches up to my B361 & finds out where the great tunes are coming from. More Boat Music

I picked up Jim Morris' CD at West Marine. Also check out Kelly Macguire "Redfish Island" (A good Texas Sailor) and Gene Mitchell "Big Coconut". Gene played the Coconut Grove Sailing Club New Years Party and sounded great. All of these are available at WEst Marine, at least in Texas and Florida. Have fun, be safe and I'll see you on the water. Marc
