I guess we Floridians are not going to go scott free this year. Day is coming and most of us on the West Coast are battening down the hatches, removing canvas and double tying lines. Wish us luck, this time tomorrow we will know here if we are having a Class 1 or a miss to the West.

I was a little bummed

that we did not take our boat straight to Shell Point but instead decided to bring it home and work on it for a couple months. I watched the Weather Channel and now it looks like Fay is going to go into the Gulf and come up the west coast instead of coming ashore in south Florida. That will give it time to build before hitting the panhandle. Glad it is at the house now. It looks like I will need to tie down my boat on it's trailer around Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully we will all get some much needed rain and just a little wind. I know south Georgia really needs the rain.

Was headed that way

I had planned on leaving today and heading over that general direction. Plans sort of on hold now for a day or two anyway. Not real interested in getting caught out in this, even if it's just a Cat 1 or still a TS. Will sit at the house and wait it out.

We spent yesterday preparing

All of the canvas has been removed and additional lines run. Currently our local weather people think it will run inland putting us on the good side of the storm. We are still expecting 4 - 8 inches of rain and wind as high as 80 mph. We have been through much worse on 2004 (Charley) so I am personally hopeful this is a non event.

The good news is that it may help Georgia catch up on thier rainfall totals.

Always a bright side.

We lucked out. 65 mph winds for a few hours but no Hurricane. All appears well in Naples Fl.
