After giving the bilge a good rinsing I reinstalled the (bronze) drain
plug only to have it strip the threads of the plastic sleeve.

Any suggestions?

The sleeve should be bronze, not plastic!! Drop me an email off group

A through-hull should NEVER be a plastic one but always
BRONZE!
I recommend installing a bronze through-hull.

Hello,

Don't know the vocabulary but by this sleeve do you mean the part that has threads in the keel side or the sort of a shoulder/ring that comes out of the keel surface a few mm ? Do they they together form this sleeve ?

From ours this outer has fallen off and it looked little like the rest of it could have fallen of as well... This being the case
I need to replace the complete set. What is the cost for that ? Does it have to be bronze because its durability ?
