I managed to break the cheek block that turns the centerboard line. I have a replacement coming.
The next problem is untying all the overhand knots connecting to the pulleys. I have managed to get all but one. I have tried pliers, soaking the line, even with a little soap. Where it is I am real hesitant of cutting it because I will not have enough line to retie the line. I am not ready to replace the line to the board.
Any suggestions of how to get this knot loose?:cry:

You are on the right track by soaking it. When its damp try taking a small hard rubber head hammer and tapping the knot while its laying on a piece of backing wood, roll the knot over while your tapping it, almost like tenderizing a piece of meat but don’t tap it hard enough to damage the fibers of the line. We took ours off to wash/bleach them this spring and that’s how I got ours undone.

Have you tried a rigging knife? It has a spike that is most helpful with loosening even the worst knots.

Here's an example. I got one from West Marine for about $20. Definitely a "must have" on a boat.
