Help with Universal Diesel parts

I have a Universal Atomic Diesel enginemodel 5424 that requires a new "timingcover" for lack of better words.Does anyone here know of a source forparts on these older diesel 3-cyl engines?Any reply appreciated.thanks,mike brnambrna@employees.org

5424 gear case

The gear case assembly to which you refer is available. Part #298674 costs $1274.05. There is at least one week lead time to procure one.  There are not too many sold, for obvious reasons. Depending on where it is damaged, the cove can be removed and welded. Most of the cover just keeps the oil in the engine so strength is not a factor. You will need the proper gaskets and seals when you make the repair, either way.
