Please see attached photo--the jam cleats are too close to the bottom of traveller and we cannot get enough purchase on the lline to secure properly. Has anyone else had this problem and what are some suggestions please!

Could you try re-threading so the line comes off the top block? Then pull down as you engage in the cam cleats.

I'd try Allan's recommendation and maybe consider a wedge block under the cam cleat angled away slightly from the traveler to make it easier to engage.

Nope, that wont work. An expanded picture would sure help. Maybe replace the cam cleat with a block that leads the line to a better location?

Can't tell where your traveler is from the photo. On my H30, I removed the cam cleats, lengthened the line, and mounted new cleats on the cabin aft edge. Now I can play the traveler from the helm, along with the vang and main sheet. Learning how to vary the mainsail in this way keeps me from reefing until at least 20kts, maybe more.
