Galley
The most important thing is to make sure that wherever you place anything it will stay there while you are sailing. One of the more disturbing things is to have stuff fly all over the cabin when you're sailing. I understand your winds at Tahoe can be variable and gusty. With a 27 foot boat, you should have more enough room to stow everything you need. We used to weekend repeatedly on our C22. We'd go away for weeks at a time on our C25, with everything with us we needed, except for ice and beer refills!Drawers are nice. Small shelves with pinrails are great for spice racks. Most boats have shelves along the hull. You may have to get creative to keep stuff in those shelves. You should have plenty of space underneath the seats in the salon, and under the V berth on a 27 footer.Just take with you what you need to avoid "tripping over, sitting on and sticking to the food they are preparing."Where you put your stuff is up to you. What do you need the most often usually is closest. Just remember, it is LIKE a home, just that it IS a boat.We have a nice framed photo up on the main bulkhead. We also have a "mini-boat-theme" of lighthouses, with a pillow with a lighthouse and some smaller lighthouse pictures. Your choice.Other sources for ideas can be found on association websites. Many boaters have posted their own websites. Have you used the search engine on this website? Try any Catalina association website for pictures of folks' interiors. In many cases, there may be nothing to see, because everything is neatly stowed, and out of sight. As far as "stuff that can be ordered," just review the galley section in the boating catalogs. Any and all on line marine vendors have galley sections on their websites.Good luck.
