Help with my pump out

Peggy, I may or may not have a problem, but everytime I pump out my head on my Hunter 29.5, it seems like it goes a bit too fast. Too clarify, they hook up the hose and within about 20 seconds I hear the familiar whining sound that tells me it would be empty. It is VERY difficult to tell just how much "stuff" I have in the holding tank. Just wondering if the hose configuration could be hampering the actual pumpout. Ever have any compaints from other 29.5 owners??

How much does the tank hold?

Plastic or aluminum? Does it also seem to fill up again too quickly?

I think it's a 12 gal. tank...

It is plastic. I think I will try to email greg emerson at Hunter to see if they have spec's ...stay tuned...

I don't think you have a problem

An onboard macerator, which isn't anywhere near as strong as any decent pumpout, can move 12 gal/min...so a really powerful pumpout would have no trouble emptying a 12-15 gal tank in 30-45 seconds. That it can do it that fast means you need to take extra care to make sure the tank vent is never blocked...'cuz that could result in a cracked tank.

Thanks Peggy

It is in fact a 20 gallon tank...now I guess I need to find out where the vent is...
