Help with Diesel Tank Cap dimension

Hello! the chain on my Diesel cap broke and the cap fell in the water. I was wondering if anyone here knows the right diameter for that cap. Thank you!

Mine is the same size for the waste tank. Not at the boat now, Hope this helps.

Thanks! I tried the one on my waste tank but it is a bit bigger than the one for Diesel.

Try Catalina Direct or Catalina Yachts.

BTW, get rid of the stupid chains on the caps, that's why they fall in the water. Take the cap off and lay it on your cockpit seat, much safer.

So put on your Big Boy pants and put it in a baggy. Or would you rather have THAT cap fall overboard?!?

Better yet explain why the shouldn't ever get that high in the pump out hose unless it's connected to the nozzle. Sheez...

The day I took delivery of my first boat (Hunter 280), my boys were helping me fuel it up at the marina where I bought it. One of them (name withheld to protect the innocent), unscrewed the cap and let it hang by the chain…but the chain wasn’t attached to anything, and the cap promptly dropped into the water. The fuel guys tried to find one, the broker checked the ships store and no luck. Nothing fit. Finally, the broker ”borrowed“ one from another Hunter he was selling…got us underway and out of his hair.

No idea what size the Catalina uses.
