I found a 1978 Catalina 25 for 3 grand. What do I need to know when I inspect this boat?

Was hoping you could provide me specifics on problems with this model and things to look out for.
The owner claims it's in good shape, the sails are (I question that but optimistic) and that the engine is new (this is a plus). She said it just needs to be cleaned. I get the impression not a lot of people are looking at it.
Background - it will hopefully be stored at my dads slip in saltwater if he's OK with that. If not I'll keep it on land and put it in when I want to sail.
I know it will be a lot of work even if it's in good condition.
