Help! What year is this Javelin?

We have a Javelin to sell purchased new in the early 80's but I cannot find information regarding the year it was made. It's earliest license is 1983 but it doesn't look the pictures I found of an 82 or 83. I haven't found a picture of a 1981.It is the same boat pictured in the Javelin borchure with the orange and yellow strip and the yellow, black and white sails. Can anyone help me with the year? We bought it new at a boat show in Michigan so it could have been last year's model or something. Thanks! Old Sailor

there should be a set of numbers on the outside surface of the trans on the right as looking forward, perhaps about 2 inches down deom the deck/hill seam.

p.s. there are only 2 basic javelins, one with a hull liner and moulded seats and little opening in the forward bulkheas, or the bare hull, no liner and open space under the fordeck and would be a pre '70 boat. not sure of exact year change. if not like either, then prob not a javelin. dr marine.com may help.

Thanks. We will look for the numbers on trans. It does have the molded seats and the opening in the forward bulkhead with a wooded door. It also has the lift up cooler lid on the seat that they talk about in the brochure.
