shaft packing for a stuffing box is determined by the shaft and stuffing box...please
state your question noting the size shaft, assuming steel, and the type stuffing box
selection of the "flax" type and size allows some latitude for personal preference

Measure your shaft with a caliper. Cheap Harbor Freight. Then go to this link for
shaft = flax size
