Help, need rudder for Hunter 25.5

I would like to ask anyone who may have information on the best way to go about finding a replacement rudder for a hunter 25.5. Mine broke in half between the pintles and I am trying to find a resource for a new one before attempting to build. Any help will be welcome, thanks Bob

Bob, I for one am very interested in hearing how your rudder came to it's unfortunate end. I also have a 25.5 and would very much like to avoid a similar fate. Thanks.

pitting corrosion

Anthony, I was heading out and the rudder struck something underwater and the bottom gudgeon failed due to corrosion, then the rudder just broke in half, luckily, I was able to get back in safely using the engine to steer. I had never inspected the stainless gudgeon at the bottom of the rudder, but it was almost dissolved at the first bolt hole. Bob

fyi,it will cost about 650.00 for new one including tax and shipping. ouch.
