I'm in the middle of a winter project and I need to know how wide is the companionway on a 29.5 ? Can one of you guys with you boat in the back yard give me a measurement? And while your at it, how far is it from inside port rope clutch to inside starboard? And hey, if you get that, what's the land speed of a .....nah just kidding about the bird. But I do need to know about the companionway. Thanks in advance

More info please

The companionway is tapered. Where do you want the measurement from? Top to bottom? Port to starboard? Ruff or pretty accurate? I need more info to give you a good answer. Joe G.

More for Joe

Port to Starboard, across the top. My idea is to put semi-perm bars from the bimini frame, forward to the coach top, thus eliminating the forward straps. I'm considering a stainless steel rail to fold the bimini against (forward). BTW, my bimini runs from just forward of the mainsheet to the boomvang. I have my bimini at home and need an idea of where I might make the cutouts. Thanks for the help

I'll be at my boat on 2/2/02....

I'll try to get you the info on line that evening. Joe G.

Here's some numbers

The opening is 25.75” across the companionway. There is a lip on each side that the top hatch slides in, to the outside of that it’s 32” across. The clutches are 40” apart. I have a photo (if you need it) but I didn’t download it yet. Hope this helps, if not let me know, Joe G.

Good work Joe

Joe, thank you very much. These measurements will help me a lot. I love to see pics on the website so download them if you have a chance. I'll try to let all the 29.5 owners know how my project worked out. Thanks again
