Help me solve a problem

Tim, What did you decide on?

Since I got my pole in today, I thought about this post and pulled it up. Got a few questions.

Is the stop/kill switch mounted inside somewhere? I was thinking that it would be good to mount that on the pole with connectors inside it's enclosure.

Also, since the pole is 9' long, how do you get to the top to remove the wind turbine, or does the pole rotate down for working? If the latter then it makes more sense to have the connectors inside as you describe.

Sorry if this sounds redundant, but you have my interest and I am trying to sort out the issues as well. Thanks Ray

Ray, the stop switch is in the sail locker. I can reach the top of the pole by sitting on my solar panel frame over the bimini so I do not rotate the pole down until after the generator is removed as my solar panel frame interferes with the pole until I can disconnect the base and use a little slack in the wires to lay the pole flat on the side deck.

Got It

I have a pretty good mental picture of your set up so it make sense now what you are doing. I think as I do my install I will need to do something a little different (perhaps a hinge to lay the unit down).

RP, the bracket for the pole already has a pivot point so you will not need to add a hinge.
