Hello All: I'm looking for an O'Day 19 with a trailer in New England, preferably in MA or RI. Any leads or info would be appreciated. Thanks, Andy

I saw one on Craigs List recently, don't remember if it was the RI Craigs list page or SE Mass.....maybe Cape Cod, actually... I might have been on the classified page for this web site, but I think it was local (Norton, MA if I recall)? Price was pretty good if I recall. If I wasn't broke due to being out of work off and on for the past 10 years..... I'd have gone to look at the boat. I like my DS II, but 2-footitis would mean room for a porta-potti!

PS: I just looked.... the boat listed on the classified page is in Wilton, CT, but I'm sure that I've seen one lately (listed somewhere!) that was near my home in Plainville, like I say.....

PPS: The one on Craigs list was in Raynham, not sure if still available.

Rod,
Wasn't there an O'Day 19 in someone's yard on Pleasant Street in Assonet on the way to Rudy's store? I remember you mentioning it on the forum not long ago. I don't know if it was for sale though.

Joe, last I knew that boat was still there........ I remember mentioning it to Rudy a few years ago, and forget now what he told me.... the boat is a "project" though. I'll have to take a ride by there one of these days.

Thanks for your replies. I was able to find an O'Day 20 that appears to be sailable but could be classified as a "project", mostly convenience and cosmetics. She's covered up for the winter with access to the cockpit and cabin. Eagerly awaiting Spring. Andy

I don't run across many of these boats in my travels. I think that there is one in Battleship Cove on a mooring in the summertime. It looks almost like new.

Andy,
One of our old honorary SYC members owns an old O'Day 20. It's been sitting in his yard for years and I'm not sure what he plans on doing with it. He lives in Somerset and I could email him and ask about it if you're interested. It's been sitting in his yard for years and it too is probably a project boat.

There is a fixed keel Oday 19 with trailer and sails on eBay right now. It's in Port Orange Florida and looks like a complete project boat. Probably get it cheap since it needs some hull repair.

That one isn't an O'DAY 19, she is a RHODES 19. OUCH, not kidding when the boat is called a PROJECT! Wonder what they hit? or what hit them??
I also doubt that she is a 1978......... might be, but it seems that a 1978 would have an O'DAY Hull ID Number, not a Florida State-issued HIN.

BTW, there is an O'DAY 19 in New Jersey listed on eBay as well, it is a classified ad, price is around $2,500. Too far from home for me!

Andy, I just looked closer at your signature. Is it your PY 23 that is stored in Bridgewater in the winter and sails out of Wareham in the Summer? If so, we've met a couple of times at the Tempest Knob boat ramp in Wareham while launching/hauling our boats.

Thanks for you replies. The PY 23 in Wareham/Bridgewater belongs to a friend of mine, Dave M. I no longer have my PY23. Ideally I wanted an O'Day 19 but recently bought an O'Day 20. It's in sailing condition but needs some attention and upgrading which I am doing. I hope to meet up with some of you sailors in 2012. Andy

Andy, is that the 1977 O'DAY 20 that has been in Wareham the past couple of years? I guess not, since you say that you just bought one. I guess that also rules out the 1976 O'DAY 20 in Wareham?

Both are great looking boats! You will find the 20 to be a great little boat, and they seem to sail pretty well. I agree on the preference for the 19 (one of the boats on my someday dream list!)....... but the 20 is nice. A friend of mine used to have a 1977 O'DAY 20 on Narragansett Bay, he and his wife sailed all over the bay, even overnighting in Newport.

If you come to Wareham I'll look for you! Can't really miss my DS II, bright yellow!
